YESSS
The torture ended yesterday at 1:30 PM! When I got into my dad's car to go to my brother's 8th grade award ceremony, the radio appropriately began to play "Celebration." Haha XD

After the award ceremony we went to eat at Cracker Barrel where I spent most of my time asking my dad if he remembered events I learned about in history class from the 1960s forward. I'm just so fascinated by the fact he was actually alive during the Civil Rights Movement and Vietnam and such. I don't know...it just makes everything seem even more real and puts it into perspective how short awhile ago all that stuff was.

I saw Star Trek Wednesday afternoon (we had early release, so a few friends and I headed to the theater) and it was AWESOME. Go see it if you haven't!! Spock was my personal favorite, though I liked pretty much everyone on the crew. The plot was difficult to follow if you aren't paying attention to what's going on, but if you do get it, it's wicked awesome.

So yeah. I hope this summer will be spent well! I still can't get over the fact next year is my last year in high school, and that I'm turning seventeen next month. Like...I don't know, it's finally dawned on me that I'm almost an adult. It's...weird. I remember when I was ten years old I would wonder about how I'd look by the time I became an adult. Now that I'm actually almost here, it's a bittersweet feeling, both excitement and sadness. Sigh. Well I still have one more year.
